T.S. Eliot Quote - Going too far Religion Home Address Pirates Brotherhood Churchhill

bmwshellbackcardThe Ship's Office was the administrative heart of the boat. Nestled in next to the XO's stateroom, the office was about the size of two phonebooths put together, or maybe a booth at the local diner, though the yeomen and personnelmen that served there probably don't remember it being that big.

The responsibility for the admininstration of a 120 person military unit, and all the correspondence, personnel records, and associated paperwork that go along with that was a task that required a dedicated Ship's Yeoman and one or two assistants. The Ship's Office staff was responsible for the publication of the daily Plan of the Day (P.O.D.), and maintaining the Master Sailing List current, among many other things.

Here, the workload is much lighter. In our Ship's Office, you'll find the "P.O.D."which is updated not daily, but periodically, with news, current happenings, and site information. You can find also answers to Frequently Asked Questions there as well as Links to other sites. The Ship's Office also holds archives of the 1MC shoutbox, (where you can find shipmates chatting with each other in real time), and the P.O.D archives, where you can search for relevant articles that have been previously published in the P.O.D.

If nothing else, respect the Ship's Office, for the Yeomen within control your leave papers! Thanks to all those who served within its confines, for taking care of us!
