SUMMERVILLE, SC - Graveside services for Master Chief Hugh J. Patterson, U.S. Navy, retired, 50, will be held at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. at a later date. Locally, visitation is 6-8 p.m. Thursday at James A. Dyal Funeral Home.

Mr. Patterson died Monday. Born in San Rafael, Calif., he was the son of Greta Smith Patterson Griffin of Long Beach, Miss. and the late James Patterson.

Surviving are his mother; wife, Rhonda St. John Patterson; sons, Scott A. Patterson of Summerville, William J. Patterson of Virginia Beach, Va.; daughter, Laura D. Patterson of Summerville; brother, Robert A. Patterson of Long Beach, Miss.; sister, Heather DeBord of Long Beach, Miss.
